| Transfer students may join a fraternity in their first quarter at Ohio State if they achieved a 2.5 GPA and 12 credits that transfer to Ohio State. Transfer students should provide Room 211 of The Ohio Union with a copy of their transcript. |

| The easiest way to register for recruitment is thought the web site! Once logged onto www.ohiostatifc.com, just click on the "I Am Interested" tab. Fill out the registration form, and you will receive a confirmation email shortly after you submit the document. |

| Ohio State utilizes deferred recruitment, meaning you must have 12 credit hours of college/university credit before you go through recruitment. For most first-year students, this means that a fraternity can not offer you a bid until winter quarter. Deferred recruitment actually gives you several advantages. First, you can adjust to the academic culture of college life. Second, you have an entire quarter to explore all of the fraternities without any of the pressure that sometimes accompanies the extending of bids. |

| 7. What is the difference between formal recruitment and informal recruitment? |
| Formal recruitment (or winter recruitment) is an organized process that encourages you to meet every chapter. Formal recruitment only happens once a year, and every chapter extends bids during winter recruitment. Informal recruitment takes place in the fall and spring. Only some of the chapters participate in informal recruitment, and those who do partake in the process organize their own events. |

| 8. What does C.O.B. mean? |
| C.O.B. stands for continuous open bidding, meaning that chapter may give out bids to eligible men whenever they want, opposed to formal recruitment when bids are given out on a specific day.

| 9. Do I have to live in the chapter house? |
| Every chapter has a different live-in policy. Some do not require members to live-in, while others ask members to live-in the house for one or two years. Regardless of the policy, living-in the chapter facility is one of the best ways to create strong bonds with your brothers. You may also receive perks while living in the chapter house, like increased safety, a cooking staff, a house mother and convenience.

| No, Deferred Recruitment allows you to establish a strong GPA before you join a chapter. Greeks also participate in programs like �Letter in the Library� which encourages group study sections. It has been proven that students who study in groups perform better on exams. The work has paid off; The Ohio State All-Fraternity Men's GPA is higher than the Ohio State All-Men's GPA. |

| No. Ohio State�s Greek Life Task Force has a zero tolerance policy towards hazing. |

| 12. How much does it cost to join a fraternity? |
| Most chapters live-in cost is comparable to living in the residence halls and includes room, board, and all your activities. Dues vary from chapter to chapter so asking individual members is the best way to find out. This is a very common question, so do not feel embarrassed about asking. |

| The Interfraternity Council is the governing body of all fraternities on the Ohio State campus. |

| Each Greek chapter has a secret ritual that provides its members with a lifelong code of ethics and principles by which to live. Members cherish their ritual and are able to form strong bonds with their brothers across the world by know that they share this common connection. |
